Five people — including three children — were hospitalized after a boat crashed into a docked boat in a North Miami Beach lake, officials say.
Officers with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission were notified of the crash at 8 p.m. Saturday. The boat, operated by 53-year-old Gabriel Salauis, struck a docked vessel near Maule Lake. Authorities did not say what time the crash occurred nor did they indicate what types of boats were involved in the accident.
Seven passengers were ejected as a result of the crash, according to the FWC. Salauis, a woman and three children were taken to an area hospital for treatment. The FWC is investigating the crash.
